Impermeable Liners

A geomembrane is very low permeability synthetic membrane liner or barrier used with any geotechnical engineering related material so as to control fluid (or gas) migration in a human-made project, structure, or system.[1] Geomembranes are made from relatively thin continuous polymeric sheets, but they can also be made from the impregnation of geotextiles with asphalt, elastomer or polymer sprays, or as multilayered bitumen geocomposites. Continuous polymer sheet geomembranes manufactrued with low density polyethylene (LDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), are by far, the most common.

Types of Liners

PVC Liners

Manufactured with Polyvinyl Chloride as the principle polymer. PVC liners offer flexibility through a wide range of temperatures making it ideal material for cold weather installation. PVC geomembranes are suited for exposure to wide range chemicals and for applications where a resistance to biodegradation is preferred.

HDPE Liners

Smooth geomembranes are the preferred products for lining projects requiring low permeability, exceptional chemical and ultraviolet resistance prperties, which makes them extremely cost effective for most applications. HDPE lineres are abvailable in smooth or textured finish.

LLDPE Liners

With increased material flexibility LLDPE is mainly used where long term large settlements are anticipated such as landfill covers.

The Geocomposite is available in both single sided and double sided products with geonet core thicknesses from 200 mil to 300 mil and fabric ranging from 4 oz to 12 oz.The geotextile is bonded to the geonet with a hot knife application allowing for high bond strength without the reduction of transmissivity values of other processes.The geocomposite is synthetic drainage media designed toreplace one to two feet of traditional aggregate while providing the design required drainage under site loads, gradients and site conditions.If your drainage needs require filtration to keep silt and soil particles from clogging the flow or you require increased friction characteristics that bonding geotextile to the geonet will produce.

Geonet is a biaxial/biplanar geonet manufactured form HDPE resin. The rib formation of geonets allow for high flow in both machine and cross machine direction. With thickness ranging from 200 mil to 300 mil, geonets are designed to meet the needs of transmitting fluids in high load application such as landfill cells and low load transmission of fluid for drainage and methane gasses in landfill closure applications among others.
